A new concept for transponder deployment and recovery. Compact for transport, lightweight for ease of back deck handling and highly stable when in position on the seabed

Light Weight Tripod

LW Tripode is used for permanent subsea instalations. It is used in more permanent setting where ROV replaces transponders.

Following a client request a new light tripod were designed and delivered to a deep-water project in Indian. Due to long shipment a modular unit were proposed and built allowing 50 units to be stored in one 20-foot container, and easily assembled on deck just prior to deployment. Again low centre of gravity, non-corrosion parts, reduces weight per support area (due to installation in soft soils) and certified means of lifting.

Efficient LBL Positioning

1. Deployment Mode
Tripod is deployed directly to the seabed with the crane or A frame

2. Use Mode
Tripod is in use. It handles up to 15 degrees tilt. Transponder is ready for communication

3. Transponder Swap
Small transponder buoy is floating, enabling ROV to swap transponders when battery change is needed

4. Retrieval
ROV uses the hook to connect deployment-retrieval line. Tripod is then retrieved onboard

SITS





Semi Immoveable Transponder Stand - SITS is designed for the positioning and its key advantage is speed of installation and retrieval. SITS is easy to transport as it foldable legs allow it to be stacked onboard. Because of that it is a desired permanent part of inventory onboard.

Self Deployment & Retrieving System

1. Deployment Phase
Tripod is deployed directly to the seabed with the crane or A-frame

2. Use Mode
Tripod is in use. It handles up to 15 degrees tilt. Its buoyant body is kept on the sea bottom by the weight of sand bags.

3. Pickup Mode
On signal, transponder releases biodegradable bags allowing SITS to pop up on the sea surface
